This role is working 4 - 5 days in their offices in the City of London

Our client, a leading Lloyd's Insurance Underwriter, are looking for a hands-on/technical IT Operations Manager to manage the IT service desk, IT infrastructure and technical architecture, as well as owning support and upkeep for all their London applications.

The IT Operations Manager will be very much involved in day to day operational issues and resolution as well as providing technical oversight and previously worked in the Financial Services market, preferably Lloyd's of London or general insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic oversight of the IT Operations function, comprising of IT Services and IT infrastructure
  • Oversight and ownership of all on-premise and Cloud hardware infrastructure including:

Networks, firewalls and internal/external connectivityServers, power user desktops and meeting roomsOn-premise, private cloud (managed through a 3rd party service provider), and public cloud (Azure and AWS)

  • Accountable for the daily operation and effective delivery of all IT services, including:-

Helpdesk services including user support and advice, new joiner/leaver processes and ad hoc requestsOwning applications and app support, as well as version and patch managementUser hardware including laptops and mobile devicesProvision of performance metrics on the delivery of IT Services through proactive oversight and automation

  • Responsible for designing, implementing and delivering IT operational change, including modernisation of the team
  • Responsibility for performance of third party vendors and IT outsourcing partners, as well as maintaining the IT Operations budget including all BAU IT run costs
  • Overall responsibility for the provision of the Enterprise Data Platform
  • Development and control of IT procedures including systems and user documentation

Job Requirements

  • Previous experience working in Financial Services, preferably the Lloyd's of London or general insurance market
  • Previous experience as an IT Operations Manager, managing teams
  • Technical background and happy to roll sleeves up/hands-on
  • Citrix
  • Microsoft Azure (including admin portal and billing), 365, Windows and Active Directory
  • VMware
  • Networking - LANs, switches, firewalls and patching
  • Cyber secruity
  • Datacentre and DR including infrastructure management
  • Previous experience dealing with 3rd party vendors
